So, we're going to begin by explaining what a lease actually is. Well, a lease is simply a written or an oral agreement that defines the relationship between the landlord and the tenant. So, in your drunken stupor, don't tell your friends that you lease your home to them for $500. You might just be bound by it. Unlike many commercial leases, residential leases generally are not the product of arm's-length negotiation and often are not negotiable at all. We're here to please.
